Are you entitled to free spectacle lenses?

If you are in receipt of low income benefits such as income support, job seekers allowance, family tax credit or disabled persons tax allowance then following an eye test, you are entitled to a voucher that covers the cost of any new single vision or bifocal lenses, when bought in conjunction with a new frame. Existing frames can reglazed using the voucher with a modest reglazing charge. The voucher can also be used toward the cost of varifocals or contact lenses.
