Eye Examination
Your eyes are precious, let us take care of them
Stephen Ellerker, our resident qualified optometrist, will conduct a thorough eye examination to establish the standard of your eyesight and eyehealth, looking for any signs of cataracts, glaucoma and age related conditions. General health problems such as diabetes, high blood pressure and vascular disease can also be detected.
We will advise you if any vision correction is required and then give you a written report that will include a copy of your spectacle prescription and advise you when your next eye test is due. We will advise you of any eye medication or preventative measures you need to take for the long term care of your eye health.
We will undertake to do any additional tests necessary including vision field testing or retinal imaging. We may refer you to your doctor or eye specialist for further investigation.
You may find you are entitled to free eye examinations paid for by the NHS. For example children under 16, students under 19 and the over 60’s are entitled to a free eye test under the NHS, if not the cost is £21.
Check to see if you are entitled to a free eye examination on our NHS information page.
