Eye Examination

“Your eyes are precious, let us take care
of them”

Changes in our eyesight can be subtle and
gradual, plus many eye conditions are both
silent and painless. A thorough eye examination
is also a general indicator of your whole
wellbeing, so it makes sense to be tested every
one or two years.

At Eyewear Direct we provide a thorough eye
examination with tests to assess the health of
your eyes.

Your eye examination takes 30 minutes and
includes checking the following:

Your eyesight - by reading letters on a chart.
Your outer eye health - by shining a light on
the front of your eyes and testing the pupils’
reactions.
Your inner eye health - by shining a light into
your eyes and asking you to look in different
directions.
For glaucoma - by measuring the pressure in
your eyes (if you are over 40 years old) and
for diabetes - by checking the retina.

If you do need glasses, we’ll check this using the
letters and colours on a chart and measure your
vision with lenses. At Eyewear Direct we also
carry out NHS eye examinations
